Brad Pitt ending career in three years

Who knows how genuine Hollywood retirement claims are, but at least Brad Pitt gave himself a time frame.

People reported the Moneyball actor plans on ending his acting career in the next few years, but that doesn't mean he will be forgoing movies altogether.

In an interview with Australia's 60 Minutes (they have one too? do foreign countries have any original programming?), Pitt said he wanted to take his career behind the camera.

I am really enjoying the producing side and development of stories and putting those pieces together. And getting stories to the plate that might have had a tougher time otherwise, he said.

According to Access Hollywood, the 47-year-old also helped get his baseball hit onto the big screen as a producer. He's also both acting and producing the upcoming action flick World War Z.

And while his acting career may be coming to an end, Pitt said he may not be done having kids.

I dont know that were finished, he said. I dont know yet. I dont know.

Pitt and longtime girlfriend Angelina Jolie have three biological children: Shiloh, 5, and Vivienne and Knox, 3. Pitt also adopted Jolie's son Maddox and they both adopted son Pax, 7, and daughter Zahara, 6, together.

But whether he has more or not, Pitt said he wanted to make sure his film career was something his children would look at and be proud of.

When theyre adults I want it to mean something to them. I want them to think, Dads alright. It changes everything. Everything. And its so damn interesting.

And like every oth! er dad i n Hollywood, Pitt has a lot of concerns about raising his kids in such a harsh spotlight.

Their idea is that when they go out beyond the gate because we have to live behind a gate theres people standing there in line with cameras that try and take your picture. Their idea is everyone has to deal with that, he said.

I worry. Its the only thing I get hot about, Im ready to fight about. But on the other hand you know, its a trade-off, like anything. Theres a great trade-off. And we, these guys, Im so happy for them, because they get to see the world. And their lives are so enriched by it.
