On The Road hunk Garrett Hedlund is the new face of Yves Saint Laurent's men's fragrance La Nuit de L'Homme, it has been reported.

The 28-year-old Hollywood heartthrob will star in the a new advertising campaign for the French luxury label's new scent from June this year.

Stephan Bezy, the International General Manager of Yves Saint Laurent Beaute, explained that the 'On the Road' actor was chosen because of his personality and artistic sensibility.

"Yves Saint Laurent expresses a unique style between elegance and freedom, sophistication and daring,'' he said.

''The brand embodies the spirit of a very strong and virile man, who also assumes his great sensitivity. Garrett Hedlund expresses this duality to perfection," Stephan explained in the official statement.

"He has also taken on some real cinematic challenges which show a man with a strong personality fully assuming his choices and convictions,'' he added.

La Nuit de L'Homme has been described as a contemporary, sense-stirring scent. "It is a fragrance full of contrasts, spanning its fresh, explosive top note [Cardamom and Bergamot] and its extrem! ely sensual, intoxicating, oriental base note [Coumarin and Vetiver]," the statement reads.

Garrett is the latest male star to front a scent campaign for a designer brand with Brad Pitt recently fronting the Chanel No.5 campaign and James Franco being the face of Gucci's men's scent.
