Brad Pitt rumoured to be the new face of Chanel No. 5

Hollywood actor Brad Pitt is thought to have landed his most stylish role to date: as the handsome face of Chanel's legendary perfume.

Marilyn Monroe claimed it was all she wore to bed; actresses Catherine Deneuve, Nicole Kidman and Audrey Tautou have since posed as the face of the iconic perfume, and now Brad Pitt is rumoured as the new 'face' of Chanel No. 5.

The partnership will make him the first man in the fragrance's 91-year history to act as a spokesmodel for the scent, which was created by Russian-French perfumer Ernest Beaux for the brand's founder Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel, however it is not clear if Pitt will promote the woman's scent or launch a new variation for men. A Chanel spokesperson declined to comment.

According to E! Online , the actor is shooting the campaign in London this week. The 48-year-old and his fianc Angelina Jolie, along with their six children, have set up home in the capital due to forthcoming filming commitments.

Pitt is thought to have signed a seven-figure sum ! for the contract, which either means an on-tap supply of Chanel No. 5 for Ms Jolie, or a plentiful kitty for her other scents of choice...
