Brad Pitt is on his way to Vancouver. Well, not the real Brad Pitt. Bollywood's Brad Pitt.
Actor Shah Rukh Khan, whom one Bollywood fan has described to CTV as "like Brad Pitt," left for Vancouver this morning to attend the inaugural Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA), a three-day event to be held at BC Place Stadium starting on Saturday.
"I'm extremely thrilled to be part of this," the actor told Digital Spy last month. "This is going to be a defining moment in the history of Indian cinema and TOIFA, as this will lovingly be called, will truly be a game changer."
So, who is Khan?

Considered the "King of Bollywood," the 47-year-old has appeared in no fewer than 75 Hindi films since he made the transition from TV in 1992. He found f! ame by playing anti-heroes, which opposed the traditional heroic leading man. Khan's 1995 musical "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" reportedly remains the film with the longest cinema run in Indian movie history.
Three of Khan's films have also been nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars, including 2000's "Hey Ram," the 2002 romance "Devdas," and 2005's "Paheli." In 2011, the Los Angeles Times called him "perhaps the world's biggest movie star."

I was driving down a small lane in India recently, and I remembered that 20 years ago I was driving down the same lane, and I had maybe 10 or 20 dollars in my pocket, Khan told the Times two years ago. I couldn't believe all that had happened to me. I feel lucky and even guilty to have this much.
But he's in good company this weekend. Earlier this week, Bollywood heavyweights (and married couple) Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai arrived in Vancouver to rehearse for their performance at TOIFA, CBC reports.
The star-spangled awards, which are voted for by Times of India newspaper readers, is reportedly costing the B.C. government around $10 million and is expected to attract hun! dreds of ! millions of viewers.
