Brad Pitt Explains His New Walking Cane - Most Recent Celebrity Injuries
Every day we see celebrities in the movies and on television putting on an entertaining act for us all to enjoy but it's not always happiness in Hollywood. Check out which celebs have been injured lately as we wish them a speedy recovery:
Brad Pitt
One of Hollywood's biggest stars Brad Pitt can virtually do no wrong but he can still hurt himself it appears. The actor was seen at the 23rd International Palm Springs Film Festival in Palm Springs, Calif., on Saturday with a walking cane.
"I was carrying my daughter [Vivienne] down the hill and I slipped," Brad, 48, explained to reporters at the event. "It was either her or me."
The fall caused the famed actor to injure his ACL (a ligament in the knee).
Girlfriend and actress Angelina Jolie also attended the event and commented on her beau's injured status.
"I like the cane," she told reporters, adding that the injury hasn't slowed Brad down. "He's not that kind of guy. He does everything still."
Etta James
Legendary singing icon Etta James made headlines last week when she was finally released from the hospital after being declared terminally ill last month from her incurable chronic leukemia.
The 73-year-old singer, who is most well known for her 1961 hit "At Last," was released late last week after her condition improved enough for her to be taken off a ! breathin g machine.
Nick Cannon
Actor and comedian Nick Cannon and wife superstar Mariah Carey often seem to be sometimes the goofiest of Hollywood couples and luckily their optimistic ways have helped the two while Nick is in the hospital after dealing with mild kidney failure.
Last week Nick was hospitalized and Mariah took to Twitter to let fans and loved ones know about Nick's condition. Just before the weekend Mariah explained Nick was still feeling ill.
"The situation is not easy," she told People. "[He is] in a lot of pain... we are hopeful that he'll be 100 percent as soon as possible."
Luckily the most recent update from the diva was positive news.
"Nick is in stable condition with a good prognosis, hopefully he'll be discharged within 2 days," Mariah tweeted last Friday, adding, "As always he's laughing and in good spirits."
Mariah then tweeted a photo of herself holding a bouquet of "Get Well Soon" balloons while kissing her husband on the cheek in his hospital bed, with the caption, "Thank you everyone for your love & concern."
Get well soon Nick! We hope the star gets to go home this week.
