People: Brad Pitt turned over a new leaf after going to seed on weed

Makes sense that youcouldn't come to the defense of the Greeks atthebattle of Troy or be spot-on as a highly trained assassin if you were a stoned-blind couch potato.
Looks like that was Brad Pitt's reasoning for swearing off -- or at least cutting back -- onreefer to take onroleslike "Troy" and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" in the 2000s.
Prior to that, in the '90s,Pitt says he almost turned into a 'doughnut' from smoking too much weed.
The Moneyball star, 48, who has been nominated for best actor for the film about the Oakland A's GM Billy Beane, said fame brought him depression in the 1990s.

'He said it's like he had a semester of depression, the Reporter's executive features editor Stephen Galloway said of the interview. Of Pitt's drug use, Galloway said, 'He hasn't had that in this decade, but he definitely wrestled with it in the past.'
Pitt also spoke about his and his partner and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" co-star ! Angelina Jolie and their six children, and said the kids had not yet seen their parents' movies.
He said: 'They understand Mommy and Daddy work in stories and work in movies and they understand movies just for that. 'I want them to find them on their own when they're a bit older and I can see what they mean to them then.'
Pitt will vie with friend George Clooney for the Oscar at this year's Academy Awards on Sunday Feb. 26.
Meanwhile Clooneyhas bought a place in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, apparently to keep his new flame happy.

Stacy reportedly is a big fan of Cabo, so George is in the process of buying a place there where they can spend some sun time together.
Seems it's getting less and less hard to keep up with the Kardashians.
Things apparently aren't going so well for Kim and her clan.
Ratings for Keeping Up With The Kardashians went down and venues aren't offering cashfor her to show up for events, reports the celebrity website Janetcharltonshollywood.

The extremely private club is not allowing Kim in as a member and they are reportedly telling members not to bring her as a guest, the website says.
And another note about Kim: her stepdad, Bruce Jenner says he had no word that Kim planned to file for divorce from Nets star Kris Humphries last fall.
Jenner says he found out Kim was ending her marriage on TV.
"I was the last to know," Jenner told OK! magazine. "I found out she was getting divorced by hearing about it on the news."
Katy Perry will make her first US public appearance since her breakup with Russell Brand tomorrow in Las Vegas.
The singer, who'sbeen seen flying back from her Asian tour dates to LA wearing hot-blue hair, will co-host the GiveLove charity event at the Mirage.
Perry, who is not scheduled to perform, is expected to present a check from a jeweler to GiveLove founders Patricia Arquette and Rosetta Getty.
