Brad Pitt's Top Five Movie Roles

Brad Pitt is one of Hollywood's most handsome and talented actors.

Brad Pitt will look to take home a trophy when the annual Screen Actors Guild awards air on Sunday, January 29. Pitt is nominated for his role in "Moneyball" and will hope to get some momentum for the Oscars by winning the SAG award. While Pitt was definitely impressive in the movie, this role won't go down as one of his best ever. Here is a look at the five best movie roles in the career of Brad Pitt.

1. Jeffrey - "12 Monkeys"

This movie gave Pitt his first Oscar nomination. He played a supporting role to Bruce Willis in this futuristic epic. It was a departure for Pitt. Instead of relying on his looks and smooth talk, he was scruffy and spoke at a rapid rate. The character was supposed to be crazy and Pitt definitely sold us on that. It's always nice to see an actor leave their comfort zone.

2. Louis - "Interview with the Vampire"

This 1994 film sees Pitt play a wimpy type of vampire opposite the much more evil Tom Cruise. While the movie is famous for pushing the erotic envelope, the performances really shine. Pitt does a great job of playing the sensitive Louis. The character is reluctant to become a vampire from the beginning and we really see that through Pitt's strong acting. Cruise might have gotten the best lines but it was Pitt that gave the movie soul.

3. Jesse James - "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford"

Yes, it is a very long title. This movie was fairly under the radar and had a long running time. But those that saw it got to see a heartfelt performance from the lead actor. Pitt played the villain from the Old West in a way that made him seem both sympathetic and evil. It was an honest performance that was probably pretty close to the real Jesse James.

4. Mickey - "Snatch"

You might want to put your subtitles on if you are going to watch this movie. Pitt plays an Irish boxer in this fairly entertaining crime movie. You might need to watch it a couple of times to understand anything that Pitt says. That is a compliment, not an insult. He proves that strong acting is more about expressions than words. He also seems like he is having a lot of fun here and that makes it more exciting for everyone else.

5. David - "Seven"

This is one of the better movies about a serial killer that you will ever see. Pitt plays David Mills, a young detective anxious to make a name for himself. He is given a case involving one of the more bizarre characters you will ever see in a movie. Instead of playing the witty, heroic cop that you normally see in movies, Pitt is gritty and a little bit clumsy. He does a great job of convincing us just how frustrated David really is.
