Brad Pitt Circling Supporting Role as Businessman in Ridley Scott's 'Counselor'
Another A-list actor is reportedly circling a role in Ridley Scott's upcoming high-end movie, "". Shortly after was sealed to tackle the leading man in the upcoming film, it is now rumored that is approaching Scott to land a supporting role in the thriller.
Twitch broke the news that the "" actor has booked an appointment with the English director in the last few days. It was said that the longtime partner of was discussing a minor role with the "" helmer. The character Pitt is eyeing is called Westray, a business associate of the counselor's.
This was not the first time Pitt's name emerged as a candidate to star in the high profile project. In February, Deadline reported that the "" actor was called Reiner in the film. His name was in the mix along with and , who are now becoming the frontrunners to play the bad guy. Additionally, is in talks to star as the wife of Fassbender's character.
Major plot details of "The Counselor" are still kept under very tight wraps, but it is reported that the film is described as " '' on steroids." The story follows a respected lawyer who thinks he can dip a t! oe in to the drug business without getting sucked down. It is a bad decision and he tries his best to survive it and get out of a desperate situation.
The screenplay is written by Pulitzer and Oscar winner Cormac McCarthy. The project, which is co-produced by Nick Wechsler, Steve Schwartz and Paula Mae Schwartz, still hasn't found a major studio to develop it.
