Brad to the rescue of Marilyn film

Actor Brad Pitt has come to the rescue of a planned Marilyn Monroe biopic with Melbourne director Andrew Dominik.

Brad Pitt has signed on to produce Australian film maker's stalled Marilyn Monroe biopic starring Naomi Watts.

Brad Pitt has stepped in to help director Andrew Dominik get his long-delayed Marilyn Monroe movie off the ground as the project's producer.

Australian actor Naomi Watts was slated to play the iconic bombshell in Dominik's biopic Blonde, which stalled before shooting began in January 2011.

But Pitt is now set to give new life to the Monroe film by signing up to produce the movie through his Plan B production company, although he has yet to decide whether he will take on a role in the film.
