When the Academy reveals its winners on Sunday, the members may not see eye-to-eye with moviegoers.

According to a poll hosted by MTVs NextMovie.com, fans selected The Help as their favorite to take home the Best Picture trophy with a landslide 41% of the votes. Coming in second place is The Artist with 17%, trailed by Moneyball with 10%.

The Artist may be the favorite among industry types, but if the fans had their way The Help would be the big winner on Oscar night, said NextMovie editor in chief, Scott Robson. Regular moviegoers really responded to The Help at the box office, and their support really carries through in our poll.

Viola Davis was selected as the favorite for Best Actress, while Brad Pitt was chosen in the Best Actor category. Surprisingly, George Clooney received a meager 14% of votes -- making him the bottom pick in that category.

Octavia Spencer and Christopher Plummer may have swept awards season thus far for their respective supporting roles, but MTV fans chose Bridesmaids funny lady Melissa McCarthy and Warriors Nick Nolte as their favorite supporting actress and actor. In the Best Director category, Martin Scorcese received an overw! helming 48% of votes with runner-up Michel Hazanavicius notching only 25%.

The findings are in stark contrast to The Hollywood Reporter Awards analyst Scott Feinbergs predictions, which see The Artist taking home Best Picture, Hazanavicius as Best Director and Jean Dujardin winning Best Actor, with Plummer and Spencer nabbing Best Supporting honors. The sole similarity: Viola Davis, whom Feinberg has predicted to earn the Best Actress honor.

As for those Oscar snubs: 34% of fans wished that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 received a best picture nom, while 32% would have liked to see Michael Fassbender nominated for his leading role in Shame.

Fans are clearly astounded that Harry Potter couldn't cast a spell over the Academy. By a huge margin, they believe that leaving Deathly Hallows Part 2 out of the Best Picture field is the year's biggest snub, added Robson.

Who will the Academy ultimately choose? Tune in on Sunday Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT to find out. Below, find the full results from MTVs poll.
