Brad Pitt and his fiance Angelina Jolie are pretty lethal with guns in their films, and actually it turns out that father-of-six Brad feels better having a gun hidden in his house.

The Moneyball star has revealed that owning a gun and having it in the family home makes him feel better, especially as the US has a big gun culture.

Talking to the Daily Mails Live magazine, the actor talked about owning a firearm as he said: ''America is a country founded on guns. It's in our DNA. It's very strange but I feel better having a gun. I really do. I don't feel safe, I don't feel the house is completely safe, if I don't have one hidden somewhere.

''That's my thinking, right or wrong.''

The 48-year-old, who is engaged to Angelina and is father to 11-year-old Maddox, nine-year-old Pax, seven-year-old Zahara, six-year-old Shiloh and four-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, revealed that he got his first taste of firing a weapon at a very young age.

''I got my first BB gun when I was in nursery school. I got my first shotgun by first Grade [six years old], I had shot a handgun by third Grade [eight] and I grew up in a pretty sane environment, he explained.

Brad, who was in London last week to promote his new movie Killling Them Softly, also gave an insight to li! fe behind closed doors with the Jolie-Pitts.

Despite their hectic schedules, which often sees either of the stars on location for a new movie, they always manage to share one meal a day together breakfast.

''Right now, Mama [Angelina] is working but the day always starts with breakfast, all of us together, he said.

''It's chaos and a joy. When they are young like this, it's special, and I'm very aware they'll be grown up before we know it. I see it already and I'm clinging on with my nails.''

It was recently reported that Brad bought a 250,000 shooting range for Angelina as a wedding gift. Looks like he wants some use out of it too!
