The New York Times Reports: Brad Pitt Is an Actor

It's easy to forget that the heartthrob, Hollywood idol and father of many children Brad Pitt also has an acting career. So easy that The New York Times ' s Dennis Lim wrote a trend piece (of sorts) about it aptly headlined " Don't Forget: He Acts, Too ." Pegged to the 2012 movie awards season set to begin in January and his inevitable Oscar nod for best actor in Moneyball , the Times treatment of Brad Pitt's apparently forgettable acting career is actually packed with interesting tidbits and insidery stories about the actor's fascinating career. Among them is this charming, frankly almost adorable account of the time Brad Pitt forgot to zip his fly: Having just flown in from France for the premiere of Ms. Jolies directorial debut, "In the Land of Blood and Honey," dressed down in a long-sleeve V-neck and casual pants, Mr. Pitt was fighting fatigue and jet lag. (He downed two Starbucks cappuccinos, delivered by a Waldorf employee.) He gamely e...

Brad Pitt - Brad Pitt Values Longevity In Film

Brad Pitt thinks the most important thing to consider in a movie project is ''longevity'', so regards filmmaking as like a ''fine wine''. Brad Pitt wants to make movies like "fine wine". The 'Moneyball' actor believes it doesn't matter if a film doesn't win top awards when it is released, as the key to a good project is one that ages well and will stand the test of time. He said: "Filmmaking is about longevity. Is it a quality picture? A quality story? Is there something original about it? The thing we miss the most is the degree of difficulty, like in 'The Tree Of Life'. "Just to aim for something like that - I think there's a quiet victory in the degree of difficulty there beyond what's going to be in the record books as the best picture of the year. "Films that I've loved doing like 'Jesse James' and 'The Tree of Life', they're 'fine wine' pictures - they'll a...

Image
Posted at 05:53 PM ET, 12/29/2011 (MTV) The rich and the famous undoubtedly make resolutions at the beginning of every new year, just like the rest of us. But given the extent to which media both traditional and social have allowed us to invade their private lives, shouldnt celebrities just ask us to write their resolutions for them? I mean, really, why should they do any thinking when those of us who make far less money can just do it for them? With that in mind, here are some unsolicited, strongly recommended resolutions that we at Celebritology think some Hollywood A-listers should make in 2012, presented below in photo gallery form. Robbie: I'd sleep with Brad Pitt

Robbie Williams has said if he was going to sleep with a man, he would like it to be Brad Pitt. The 37-year-old Take That star made the revelation in a webchat with friends and wife Ayda Field, 32, when he asked his pals how much money it would take for them to sleep with a man. Robbie said: "I've got a controversial question. How much would it cost for you to sleep with a man? It's got to be your minimum if a man comes to you and says name your figure. "I've thought, I'm coming in, 2million." Robbie joked to Ayda: "You never know what could come of this, babe you could be having a new car in the New Year. "You never know, let's keep our fingers crossed. I'm the cheapest." He then added: "Brad can negotiate. It's 2m for Santa, but it's a freebie for Brad Pitt." The Angels singer also confessed he would have got romantic with Lulu, 63, who sang with Take That in 1993. He said: "Did Jason Orange go out with Lulu...

Ellen DeGeneres buys Brad Pitt's Malibu home

Image
(MoneyWatch) Home prices have dropped tremendously for most Main Street Americans since the collapse of the housing market in 2008. Foreclosures have skyrocketed and short sales are more prevalent, bringing home prices down overall and contributing to an oversaturated market. It's not unheard of for a home to sit on the market more than a year before finally selling for well below asking price. Even so, the luxury real estate market is still booming in many parts of the nation. Celebrity real estate is one sector of the luxury market that continues to flourish, with Hollywood royalty scooping up mansions that still cost millions. The latest power couple to jump back into the market is Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, who recently put their Beverly Hills home - which was featured in Architectural Digest - on the market for $49 million. Back in June, the entire compound was rumored to be listed at $55 million. Rihanna's Beverly Hills home on the market Twilight stars' Be...

Screening Room: Brad Pitt's Oscar Quest and 'Lost' Sweethearts Back in Major Films

(Getty Images) Trailer of the Week The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - December 2012 Peter Jackson 's long-awaited prequel to his Lord of the Rings trilogy has finally arrived. Despite some fanboys' protests about the trailer's banality, there is plenty to like here. For one, Gandalf is back in all his glory. Ian MacKellam as The Grey Wizard looks just like he did in LOTR which is something I was wondering about. Jackson didn't use any anti-aging effects - to his credit. The trailer also introduces plenty of new characters from J.R.R. Tolkien 's novel: Gimli's bretheren, Dwalin and Balin, and Martin Freeman as the young Bilbo Baggins. Gollum returns, obviously, as he plays a major role in the story. Jackson cut The Hobbit into two parts: An Unexpected Journey and There and Back Again , which will hit theaters in December 2013. Gollum figures to have a much bigger role in the second film. Fans of the novels and Jackson's LOTR franchise will not be di...
