Angelina Jolie talks marriage and her 'greatest commitment' with Brad Pitt - Watch

Angelina Jolie admits that after six years with Brad Pitt, even her kids are asking when the two will get married.

The actress dished about the possibility of marriage and her role as director for her latest project "In the Land of Blood and Honey" in an interview with Christiane Amanpour for "Nightline" set to air on December 5.

"The kids asked me the other day [about marriage] and I asked them! if it w as just because they wanted to have a 'big cake,'" she said. "They see movies that have the people getting married in the movies or somebody's, you know, the happily ever after. Shrek and Fiona are married."

Rumors of a romantic affair between Pitt and Jolie began to circulate in 2004, when they filmed the spy movie "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," which saw them playing a married couple. Pitt divorced Jennifer Aniston, his first and only wife, in 2005 and has been with Jolie since then. The two have six children together - three adopted children, Maddox, Pax and Zahara, and three biological children, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.

"We've explained to them that our commitment when we decided to start a family was the greatest commitment you could possibly have," Jolie told Amanpour. "Once you have six children, you're -- you're committed."

Jolie also said that she and Brad Pitt are like any normal couple and the two have strong disagreements about some political issues like the death penalty.

"I won't say whose side anyone is on, but it's the one, the thing nobody brings up at dinner because nobody wants us to go off on each other," she said. "But it's fun. It's a fun debate, you know? It's a good-- you want to be able to have -- to respect each other's views and to not be exactly-- we're not identical. We have-- we have strong views."

Angelina Jolie gearing up for the release of her film, "In the Land of Blood and Honey," the first feature film written and directed by the actress.

The R-rated movie is about a Serbian man and a Bosnian woman who fall in love at the time of the Bosnian war in the 1990s and stars local actors Zana Marjanovic and Goran Kostic.

However, the actress was recently sued by Bosnian-Croatian journalist and author James J. Braddock who claims Jolie "copied,! stole" elements of his 2007 book "The Soul Shattering" to write the script for the film.
