Brad Pitt helps suicidal actor
Actor Brad Pitt consoled a depressed stranger Sunday.
At a screening of Moneyball at the Cary Grant Theatre in California, Pitt encountered a struggling actor in his 30s during an interview session with fans.
The man made the shocking announcement to Pitt and the crowd that he had suicidal thoughts in his car before the event. But he added that Moneyball gave him renewed hope.
"He said, 'Look, man, life is up and down, it's a vicious cycle, but you have to go through it and deal with that,'" said a witness of Pitts reaction to the man.
Pitt, 47, added: "You can be down, but then you come back up again, and every failure can lead to success."
The crowd praised the actor for his handling of this most awkward moment.
In the film, Pitt plays real-life Oakland As baseball manager Billy Beane who builds a team using computer-generated analyses to draft its players.
His upcoming films include the sci-fi movie, World War Z, and the crime thriller, Cogan's Trade, both of which are set to hit theaters in 2012.
Pitt has six children with his partner Angelina Jolie, whom he costarred with in Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005).
