According to Yahoo, the first 6,000 bottles of the wine had all been bought five hours after going on sale.

Public relations firm Vitabella - who are representing Jolie and Pitt's vineyard - said in a statement: "The sale started at 9am, and all the bottles were sold out by 2pm."

The label on the ros wine - which works out at a little over 15 per bottle - reads: "Bottled by Jolie-Pitt and Perrin".

Established vintner Marc Perrin entered into a joint venture in producing the wine with Pitt and Jolie, which has been made at the pair's southern French estate Chateau Miraval.

The wine is due to go on sale at restaurants and wholesalers later this month.
