Brangelina wedding won't feature elephants

New York, Mar. 5 (ANI): Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt won't be having any elephants to grace their upcoming nuptials, PETA has confirmed.

The animal-rights organization said in a statement to the New York Post that it would be out of character for Jolie and Pitt-a couple who clearly values family and has donated millions to safeguard land and wildlife in Africa.

The group wrote that the couple had probably realized that elephants used as props at events and in other forms of entertainment are separated from their families, kept chained most of their lives and carted from town to town, and beaten in training so that the gentle animals perform on cue.

The group added that the couple knew that sensitive, family-oriented animals deserve to live in peace.

The rumour mill was abuzz last week after Lucille Michel, the couple's florist, told the UK's Grazia magazine that the couple's affair is going to be the Noah's Arc of celeb weddings.

She said in sensationalist detail that the guests will travel past water fountains and Shetland ponies leaping as they go up the two-mile long drive to the house and when the guests will park, they will see the family of elephants which Pitt is hoping will make them smile.

Michel said that the elephants were their children's idea, adding, that there would be eight elephants to represent each member of the Jolie-Pitt family.

Rumour has it that the pair is set to tie the knot at their Chateau Miraval estate in the South of France at the end of May. (ANI)
