Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt Are NOT Marrying This Weekend

We'd bought a hat, found them the perfect gift and booked our flight to France but it looks like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie WON'T be getting hitched this weekend!

The excitement levels hit fever pitch this week after rumours that the superstar couple were gearing up for a big party at their French home this weekend. According the The Sun locals claim there is a real buzz around the venue as friends and family and even Ange's personal jeweller fly in.

This morning though the dust seems to have settled as multiple sources have shot down the reports. According to People magazine local media have insisted they'll be no wedding with the town's newspaper Var Martin claiming they have no knowledge of any imminent plans.

According to local officials in the French village where Brad and Ange's luxury chateau resides, legally a wedding couldn't go ahead this weekend. Patrick Mareschi, deputy culture secretary of the nearby village of Correns, tells Reuters "Under French law couples have to get married at the town hall."

"Unlike with a religious wedding, there's no way a couple can hold a civil ceremony at their own home."

So looks like the backyard ceremony is out then. The official's claim has been backed up by a photographer from photo agency X17 who was sent to scope the situation out at the house. A post on the agency's website reads:

"We sent an X17 photographer all the way down to the south of France it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere to check out Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's chateau Miraval to see jus! t what's going on and ... drumroll, please ... there's NOTHING going on!"

Apparently they were no signs of a party, marquee or even any evidence that the couple are actually in residence!

So looks like we'll be hanging onto our hat for awhile longer..unless this is all an elaborate double bluff?! Stay tuned...
