Brad Pitt has revealed that he would love to play a "proper Brit" character in a film.

The Killing Them Softly actor took part in an interview with director Guy Ritchie for Interview magazine and admitted there are certain accents he would struggle with.

Pitt explained: "I've never done a proper Brit [accent]... I haven't really tried. It would have to be something specific.

"Irish is lovely for me. But Cockney? Too many people know it too well."

Pitt further explained: "You just have to get one misstep... That's an easy one to fall into caricature. Bad caricature."

When Ritchie suggested he could try "posh English", Pitt replied: "No, not that either. I'd say I would have to go up north and do something like Scouse or Brummie."

Pitt is currently appearing in a new Chanel No.5 ad campaign, as the first male to advertise the! iconic perfume.
