WATCH: Brad Pitt Is The First Male To Star In Chanel No 5 Advert
He's arguably just as beautiful as any female model who could front a fragrance campaign, and now the Hollywood actor Brad Pitt will be the first male to become the face of Chanel No 5 in the latest commercial set to grace our screens. Very soon, we hope...
Not the most likely candidate for Chanel's oldest and most classic scent with his dishevelled beard and slightly wrinkled face, Brad, 48, is filmed with long hair and casually dressed as he looks wistfully into the camera in a black and white clip directed by Atonement filmmaker Joe Wright.
"It's not a journey. Every journey ends but we go on. The world turns and we turn with it. Plans disappear. Dreams take over. But wherever I go, there you are. My luck. My fate. My fortune. Chanel No5. Inevitable," Pitt wisely opines in the advert.
The new Chanel commercial is part of a $10 million advertising campaign in which Pitt was paid a staggering $7 million, Women's Wear Daily reported.
And the effortlessly stylish actor, who is engaged to Angelina Jolie, has just made fashion history by becoming the first man to front the luxury designer brand's most iconic women's perfume.

Chanel's crea! tive director Karl Lagerfeld, who is known for his brazen and sometimes nefarious remarks ahem, Pippa Middleton had something to say about the new idea of featuring men in adverts for female fragrances.
He commented: "It's even beyond a commercial idea. It's a new statement'.
"Men have to smell the perfume so I think it's the perfect idea. It was never done, normally it's always girls and stars and things like this,'' he added.
"I think it's the newest idea in the perfume industry and everybody uses Marilyn Monroe and all the stars that we've done and all that, so I think the newest idea Chanel could have was to take a man.''
"But for that you have to take the most famous and... sexiest man in the world and that's Brad Pitt," he continued.
Phew... He likes the idea then. And we think the new concept couldn't be more perfect for Chanel, always known as the brand to come up with ground-breaking ideas that have helped change the face of fashion over many decades.
